trackday wheels & tyres
Hi Gents
First post on here after some time spent lurking., recently purchased RS4 avant.
What trackday wheel and tyre combo's are people running ?
Has anyone gone down to 18's ?
Trackday experienced in my other cars, but should I be doing hoses and fluid before venturing out on track or do the std. brakes hold up well ?
Thanks for your help
Hayden

RE: trackday wheels & tyres
I assume you mean B7 as you mention 'going down to 18"'...
Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 are light and strong and cheap. Not much lighter than OEM wheels though.
If 18" I would recommend 18x9 ET29 (so stock width/offset) = c£600 for 4 wheels.
Tyres probably 265/35 - R888 or A048.
Would defo recommend replacing fluid with Motul RBF600 + Braided hoses. Plus a new set of pads, probably a Ferodo DS2500...
Standard brakes aren't too bad, but you need to change the fluid as a minimum, as can boil over. Worth doing the pads/hoses as well though to keep things as firm as possible.

As what Carl says above fella. You will only have clearance problems if you are running the Ceramics. Im too looking at dropping to 18s as I have been told the B7 RS4 was set up on 18s.
Being typical Brembos they will cook off if riding the brakes too long. I did Brands and Silverstone on a set of EBC yellows and they held up fine, but not amazing. I am looking to change them to DS2500s soon. Have you got SS+ (Sports suspension plus)?

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Not easy to find, but there is 19" sticky rubber out there, and might mean more cooling around the brakes.
Worth looking at the Pheaton brake ducts (Not sure if they fit to the B7), one of the top "bang for buck" mods.
