Supercharged RS4 Vs Stock RS4
'Ro's have a great sound. Used to know two owners, MOSE and BO55VXR (Bo55 has a greens supercharger, MOSE Wortec headers and full decatted exhaust) who had their cars regularly featured in VXR magazine. Nearly killed two old biddies in the Lake District a couple of year back started both motors up at he same time! You could hear them coming from 2 miles away!

Always bothered me about the Monaro along with the knowledge that only 3 people in the UK want one, so once you've got one, you're going to find it hard to get rid of...
That car always seemed to me like the triumph of brute force over ignorance. Evo mag thought it was great fun because you could light up the rear wheels by just touching the throttle.
That said there's a Bathurst lurking around here I see every now and again.
Absolutely...if you want your big power car to be a daily driver or its where you spend most of your time 800Nm of torque between 2-4000rpm is of much greater utility than 550hp at 8000rpm.
For me if you can put a C5 RS6 twin turbo setup in the B7 chassis for £12K + whatever you can sell a second hand B7 V8 for, I'd be keener on that if only because there is infinite tuning potential with this setup...
If it can go in a B5 chassis....

The thing with forced induction isn't the headline bhp figures - you need to take a step back and look at the low/mid torque and the area under the curves.

Here is the V8TT in a B5 chassis:

And here is Doug's C5 RS6 manual conversion using a B5 S4 01E gearbox:
http://audisrs.com/about16947.html
Now dump the whole lot in a B7 chassis or just hook it up to the B7 gearbox - superb - and wow....what a package....
Whats the guess the next B9 RS4 will come with a twin turbo setup anyway...

The gap in 4th is around 5 car lengths - but that video the supercharged car only floored it after the NA car started to floor it.
I have seen all the comments about that kit - I know we map these cars better than anyone else has. Just the airflow the charger flows were good and then gains we got from playing with inlet and exhaust cams means this defintiely runs better than the US ones upto now.
At the end of the day I know 90% of healthy standard car does 370-390 on our dyno, cleaned and ported do 410-430ps and this supercharged does 515 consistantly.
I will have a B7 soon and hand th ekeys over to any b7 owner to test the kit.

Doug, just to be clear I'm not doubting what you are saying or have done to the car however as you have read so have many others and it is always harder to overcome negative press than put out genuine positive news.
How much power do you reckon the s/c is losing between parasitic losses and heat soak; 60hp?

It must be around 55-60ps lost - just rough airflow numbers show that 230g/s x 2 is 460g/s total ingested air and the usual (rough) power conversion is divide that by 0.8 - it is usually accurate for cars mapped well.

I think the gains we get are better.
