That is absolutely fantastic. I didn't think the supercharger whine would sound right with the V8 growl but the combination is spine-tingling. Love it. :boots:

I love superchargers - I've driven a SLR and the deep rumble of the V8 sounds great when topped off with the supercharger whine.

Wow, that goes and sounds amazing!
I want! But, much as I'd like a bit more 'oomph' from my RS4 (like most of us), and this I'm sure will be a well sorted piece of kit, it seems an awful amount of money to spend to get (quite)a few more horses. I realise that there are few other (if any) ways of achieving that amount of power from an RS4 but I just can't see too many folk spending £12k+ on a car which isn't exactly all that slow. If it had been around £5-6k I would seriously interested but for me, at that price, my 'need for speed' cannot justify the cost.

Still a bargain compaired to an MTM kit.

I don't think there are any "free lunches" around when it comes to having a 500+hp car.

I've spent a few quid getting 540 out of my B5 (and still not finished spending!) but what other sub-£30K 500hp cars are there floating around?

Have to admit though, with the B7 chassis, this is a great package...

The thing with forced induction isn't the headline bhp figures - you need to take a step back and look at the low/mid torque and the area under the curves.
A 500 bhp NA will be slower than a 500 bhp supercharged car and in terms of driveability it'll be most noticable in normal conditions and not screeching round a track.

Be interesting to see more details on the charger setup - for example, does it have any bypass vavles for part throttle/load conditions?

It has a bypass valve built into the charger.

VXR8 - I had one when I decided that a new RS4 in the spec I wanted ay over 60k was too much. With the change wife got a bling'd Mini Cooper S.
I got a 6.2 LS4 Corvette and you could get them new for under 30k giving 434bhp and 400lb/ft as standard. A factory approved and warranty friendly supercharger for 6k would take it to 540 bhp and if you took the warranty on the engine and gearbox off you could hit a safe 600bhp. There are a couple 1000bhp twin turbo conversion floating around too. (but not for under 30k ;))

Heavy though - 1.8 tonnes and 5m long. Comical if somewhat charming handling - no precision at all but brute force and ignorance. I liked it though but prefer the Rs4 as a package.

Doug; it's a bit hard to tell from the vid but how many car lengths do you think you pulled on the standard RS4 in your tests?

I see the RS4 owners in the US are quite damning of PES and reckon a s/c car will only pull 5-6 car lengths on a standard car and 3-4 on a remapped full sports exhaust RS4. What's your opinion?
