Kerbed alloy, thanks misses!!

Came home tonight and went to check my front pads and what do I find.......a kerbed wheel!!!! It was about 3/4 of the way round the wheel and a tiny chunk out the tyre!!!!!!!

I text my wife some mild abuse and got a 'sorry' in reply. WIll find out later what the heck she decided to rub it against.

I took it off and lightly sanded the kerbing and most came out and I masked it all up and sprayed it with the OEM colour Wurth alloy paint I happen to still have in the shed. Looks quite good now but I know its not quite right so maybe time to get the done in titan grey.

ANyone know a decent wheel refurber up here thats good and cheap!!!! And is there a paint code mix for Titan?

Aaaagh really pee's me off that I spend so much effort to keep the car mint and this happens. I know accidents do happen and at least she didn't write it or herself off but its still annoys me

I feel your pain. I did a job on my near-side while in France, including a chunk out of the tyre.
My ho was leaning out of the car trying to reach a French toll booth, she kept saying "closer", to which I'd say "is there enough room for the wheel?". She'd reply "YES, get closer, I'm not going to be able to reach", so I say "are you sure the wheel won't hit the curb?", she says "yes, there's loads of room". So I roll about 2inches forward and receive the most horrible grind against the toll booth high gutter. She throws in the coins, slides back into her seat, buckles up and squeals "OK, let's go!", smiling at me oblivious as to why my face has blossomed into an incandescent purple picture of the anti-christ.
Needless to say that I was vibrating with anger before a large argument erupted along the lines of me wanting to readjust her spatial awareness using my pimp-hand and one of her expensive high heels. Every toll booth there after (and there were many), I pulled up so far from the booth, she practically had to shag a passing truckdriver in exchange for a lift the rest of the distance to the money chute.
To top it off, HRE said their powdercoats are special order and only available if the wheels were sent to them, in the USA. Pack of roosters.

Oh god we're off to France in 10 days. Will be using the Bam bam guide to 'excercising your woman' to save the wheels! WIll just tell her its like when I park 3 miles from supermarket doors so nobody parks next to me and to accept I have an OCD

Wife + Alloys = Disaster. I've never known a woman yet who hasn't kerbed a husbands car!

The problem I have is if I re-refurbish my alloys (yes, thats right I have already refurbished them) then they will only get kerbed/scratched again. I looked for tyres with rim protectors but still didnt manage to stop my missus kerbing the wheels.

But I think there may be a solution, not the most elegant ...... but possibly worth it over the pain of more scuffs .....

Good idea but they do look a bit silly. I bet she'd be les careful if she thought they would save the wheels and I'd end up with bent track rods instead LOL

My missus is a named driver on my policy but has only ever drivin it once. That was on the test drive when i bought it 4+ years ago. She now refuses to drive it as she fears she might end up in the freezer with the peas and carrots if she even farted in the 6. lol

same here, my missus kerbed 3 of mine last year(don`t ask how she done 3) then i got them all refurbed, she now refuses to drive it in case the same happens, but she is now more than happy driving around in her A2 tdi

when new I think the black or silver look ok - but once kerbed i agree they look a bit silly. I can imagine driving along with bits flailing after a while...
