Collected the car on Thursday.
300 miles so far and I have to say I'm very impressed indeed [img]images/graemlins/bowdown.gif[/img]

I find the suspension/ride compromise perfect, downright "luxurious" from my point of view [img]images/graemlins/nodder.gif[/img] whilst still being able to shake her skirts!

Obviously I'm running the car in very carefully, there is no specified regime but I will vary the revs and keep it under 4500rpm until I have completed 1000 miles, then have an oil change and gradually open it up.

So:
Who's on the "longlife" service and what does it mean? Personally I think I'll stick to 5k oil changes and 10k services but is there any other reason other than economic I should go for the lonlife option? My car is leased with full maintenance so makes no odds to me really.

Do they all steam up soooooo badly when you leave them for a while after driving them?
I mean not just a little mist, but HEAVY condensation on the inside of the windscreen.
What a pain, water marks on the inside of the windscreen after a couple of days [img]images/graemlins/033102bad_1_prv.gif[/img]

Anyone know how to re-set the satnav+? Mine has thrown a fit already and doesn't have a clue where it is. No satellites being picked up it would seem. Dealer visit methinks?

Anyone Revo'd their RS6?

Aparently at the AmD rolling road last week, cars that were carefully run in were not producing as much BHP as one which had been thrashed from day one.
Also Phil T was told to be fairly "Robust" with his new engine as they loosen up better.

Long life service? The RS6 isn't eligible for the variable service interval regime - it's a strict 12 month/10,000 mile service.

I haven't been particularly aware of internal condensation. Hopefully you're just suffering from the current weather conditions and new car. If it doesn't settle down, you may have to consider the possibility of a leak somewhere? [img]images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

SatNav - I haven't used mine recently, but the last time I did, there was very poor reception of the GPS signals - for the best part of 1.5 hours neither my Nav, nor my RoadPilot, were able to get a fix. Unless there's a fault on your system, it should recover of its own accord.

Revo - I haven't heard of anyone with a Revo'd RS6, but that would probably be the way I would go.

Congrats on the car- barges are 'a good thing' IMHO
Ive never experienced the misting up you describe,maybe the car has been sitting around and is slightly damp?
I did have to reload the data on the Satnav by re-installing the CD and this sorted out some non recognition problems.

well there is a lot of different theories about running in, high-performance piston aero engines are definitely NOT mollycoddled, they are bench run at high revs to bed them in before they go into the plane.
However bench running to bed in the parts under no load is a bit different to giving a car engine some stick with all the loads and stresses that go with it when in the car.
Although I did also hear that the RS engines are bench run at Cosworth?

it would now seen the condensation has stopped, I think it may have been caused by the Supaguarding of the interior carpets etc leaving a lot of moisture in them that has now dried out.

The satnav is proving to be a real pain however, it suddenly came nack to life yesterday, then after bein in the car for about 10 minutes this morning just went nuts again.
