Easy peasy. Remove the plastics and your in.

As xyber stated above, but with the addition of skinned knuckles..! You will also need a long thin extension with a torqx bit to undo the battery clamp. A bit tight but not impossible. Just don't drop the screw.

Also bear in mind it is obscenely heavy and positioned right at the back of the engine bay so not too easy to get in and out on your own. I would also not recommend halfords suggested replacement battery as I struggled big time trying to get one in only to eventually discover the size was quite different

thanks for the help guys, does the cab s4 run a higherpowered
batt.? also where is the clamp ? sorry i cant see 1.

Clamp on mine was at the front of the battery (towards the long side closest the radiator) between the side of the battery and the firewall. Very tight in this area, so difficult to see it, let alone loosen it.

I had a real pain in the arse changing mine! I hadn't got the required tool to loosen the clamp, so I ended up having to use an allen key, 1/4 turn at a time, resulting in skinned knuckles and a few pulled muscles from leaning all the way to the back of the engine bay to see what I was doing!!

Not too hard a job though I'd imagine, if you've got the right tools!

I was gonna do mine myself but the risk was :

[1] getting it going off charger leads
[2] driving to the store
[3] having to swap it there and then to get home and being buggered if I couldn't.

I actually ended up getting a deal from my Audi dealer where they were £10 more than the best price I could find and that included the fitting

When they did it, the told me the car lost some of the codes and they had to connect it up to their software in order to get the engine started. Just as well I did it with them

p.s. They did say it was unsual to happen but not totally unheard of.

I changed my battery with one that was higher rated (from a halfrauds or suchlike), but was slightly bigger...it went in with some heaving and sweating.....I am going to get it swapped out by the stealers soon though for an OEM one as I don't fancy my hands resembling lumps of raw meat again....
