Brake Upgrade

Hi

Has anyone had the Brembro Big Brake upgrade and if so is there a noticeable difference?

B7 brakes (stock) are excellent anyway, so no need to upgrade IMO.

Get some decent pads, RBF600 fluid and braided lines. Job done.

Stumpy, which pads would you (and others) recommend for general driving (occassional track day potentially) ?

The recommednations thus far have been Ferrodo DS2500 and EBC Yellostuff. There is another that I can't remember the name of at this time. Like stumpy67 said get Goodridge of HEL braided lines put in which will increase pedal pressure / feel as well.

I looked at RBF600 and it is good but for me didn't offer performance vs price wise a significant benefit over OEM brake fluid but then I don't track my RS.

The RBF600 oil works at much higher temperatures than OEM oil, so worth the extra cost if you are tracking the car, as well as braided lines, which should help with feel as well as reduce expansion in the OEM lines.

If you're only using the car for occasional sprited driving on the road, then I'd agree and not worth the extra cost.

Re pads - I currently run RS6 pads, but I wish I hadn't bought them. They work well enough but they create a MASSIVE amount of dust, which is a right royal pain in the ass for keeping the wheels clean.

As mentioned, I would recommend EBC Yellows (I have them on the rear and are good). Not tried DS2500 but have heard good things about them.

Guys just for info I recently purchased a set of front EBC pads from this guy on E-Bay! was cheapest I could find and they were delivered within 2 days! :wink:
