Good result. The RS4 pulls hard when it breaths well hey! Thanks for sharing.
Do you know how much power difference the clean and porting did, and then what the remap did on top of that?
Do you have VAGCOM, would you be able to run some timing and airflow logs? I'd be really keen to see this.
Cheers, Mal
Mal the runs ar as follows
2 is the first run standard
4 is head ported and valves cleaned
1 is remap all with standard exhauts system

Is it a custom map, or an APR style map? Do you know what they do (eg take a little fuel out, run a bit more/less timing)?
I'm genuinely interested, as I seen tuners get upto 30kW at the wheels more from my race car by just running it a bit leaner and actually taking timing out (it's a turbo, but boost was left the same).
Cheers, Mal

Mal not sure about how the map was done better speaking to doug about that but i know it was a custom remap as to what was changed so can't help you there

any pre and post mod times?
the real 'proof of the pudding'
I still can't understand why raw data is not presented
why is it always corrected with the correction factors never shown?
are you saying 55HP due to cleaning/porting?
15% ?
I agree with P_G, there was something else wrong with the car, you baseline peak HP rpm is ~1000 rpm too low
glad it sorted out though
on a side note re: HP debate
stock cars
both with 10k miles on them
both tested by the same magazine
with a 15 lb wt difference, scale measured
e39 M5 13.4 sec/108 mph...400 HP/365 lb ft
RS4 13/109...414/317
the RS4 will have considerable more losses, awd vs 2wd...
the RS4 will have a launch advantage due to awd, but not as large as one may guess considering 50/50 wt balance on the Bimmer...
a few 10'ths in time perhaps, no tangible advantage in trap speed...
so the RS4 is faster, despite having less HP (folks are saying 370 from the factory) and much less torque and in addition has more losses, ie, less delivered power?
does not compute

here's an experiment
I'd be willing to chip in a few $$$ to see it happen
get 2 cars
one modded, cleaned, etc.
one oem, >30k miles, never cleaned
make sure both are running well, no codes, fresh filters, etc.
dyno them (on an independent system), same day, same place, no correction or extrapolation to crank, raw numbers, 3 runs each
same day, take them to a track, same tire pressure, same fuel load, etc.
find a track regular, a good driver
have him do 3 passes in each car (let him do 1 trial run in one to get familar with quattro, etc.)
post results
make me munch on crow

Arthur wind your neck in not getting into this the post.
We already have a post that you bleater on about clean versus dirty and that was boring go and peddle your religion else were

no emotional content...only objective facts and questions...
unlike your post
simple times will tell...
but there has NEVER been any
and I suspect there is a reason for that...
US Tuners always run times, it's the only valid comparison/yardstick
no matter what the dyno says, if the car is not faster it is all moot
so stop being so defensive, if you're happy with your expenditure, regardless of benefits, percieved or real, quantifiable or imaginary, so be it...as long as you are happy, that's all that matters, correct?
but don't potificate and blather on about what I (or anyone) can or can't post...
you think cars are 'religious'...strange
think about it, if the experiment I postulate is run, and the modded car is >0.5 sec and >7 mph, that's what 75Hp is worth in a 4000 lb car
it will sell a ton of work...
good for the tuner and his botttom line
good for the consumer, real world, tangible, measureable benefits...
no iffy dyno, no guessing about the translation of dyno results to the street...
win-win
