Reducing power steering squeal

hi
Is there any way of reducing the sqeal from the power steering when parking my car? It really loud and everyone knows when im leaving or returning home. Not good.

I have the same when at full lock. I've been told that it sounds like the pump is on it's way out.

Any idea what it would cost to replace the pump purhaps?

Yeah, they all do that, a mate says it's a safety measure to protect the rack from over pressure, however mine got loader and loader and then I started losing fluid. Upon inspection the tack was leaking at both ends.

New (reconditioned) rack from europarts £261 although I get £96 back when I return the old rack. Beware it's not really a DIY job, and the service book says 10 hours !

We will be doing mine next weekend, will let you know how long it actually takes.
