Not heard of this one but let me guess, pads wear down to a point that when still legal, a part of the pad which is a pin gouges the disc?I was hinting at the pad "pins" issue! Pehaps I was too subtle
Am I being unreasonable

Oh well, I am assuming mine needs discs and pads next change anyway.
Not sure if its ever had pads, Audi say no (33k miles)

I've just had new front disks and pads at 45K. Don't know if the pads were changed before I got the car, but even if they were that's over 35K on them which is pretty good I'd have thought. No warning light (and no scoring!) but could feel the brakes weren't quite right.neckarsulm wrote:Oh well, I am assuming mine needs discs and pads next change anyway.

From memory around mid 2008, my 56 plate had the original pad which started scoring the disks with 40% (Audi's own assessment) remaining!!PetrolDave wrote:When were the modified pads introduced?P_G wrote:Depends on whether his car has the original or modified version of the pads.....
I ask because mine's a fairly early RS4 Avant (July 2006), so I may have had the original version...
