Call it relevant or not but I have watched a sh**t Brown VW Beetle with a roof rack absolutely thrash a 911 Turbo down the strip at Santa Pod.

No matter what you drive there is always someone faster

246 bhp per tonne for an RS4 at 414 bhp
215 bhp per tonne for E36 M3

10% drop if RS4 is pushing out just 377bhp
10% off 246 bhp = 220 bhp per tonne so as close as dammit to the M3 especially allowing for a bit of rust to have lightened it

http://sportscarforums.com/f13/0-200-km ... 29417.html
0-200 kmh
17.1 - Audi RS4 (420 ps)
20.5 - BMW E46 M3 (348 ps)
no e36, but from all I've read (and having owned a e36 and e46) the e46 is a bit faster than the e36...

0-200-0
http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?viewTh ... tID=100519
21.8s - Audi RS4, 420 PS/1728kg (06/06)
21.4s - BMW M3 CSL, 360 PS/1421kg (08/03)
24.7s - BMW Z3 M Roadster 321 PS/1436kg (same engine as the e36, but a bit lighter)

so the RS4 ~ the same as the CSL which weighs ~700 lbs less...

I worked out the weight of my Avant it was more likely to be 232 bhp/tonne and with me and kids seats in early 220 bhp per tonne. And that is assuming no powerl loss at all.

I got my figures from Evo's road test of the RS4 Avant vs M5 Touring

Which line sounds most plausible:
1. I'm going to trade my RS4 in for an E36
or
2. I'm going to trade my E36 in for an RS4

I think that settles the comparison :)
