Only my opinion, but my old car with all the right bits on it and pristine condition sold a few months back for only a few £k more than that with half that mileage,R5cpk sold a really nice example with mid 70s milltek etc for under 14k,130k and nearly 10 years old you have to be reasonable to sell them, been here so many times with threads like this and opinions always change when turned into the cold hard facts of actually selling and achieving a sale.I think 10k is decent money given age mileage, anything under is becoming a bit of a deal,id be looking at it from a whos gonna buy it from me in a year or two with 150k on it? There good strong cars but..........

As lengster says, these old heaps are virtually worthless. You only have to drive one to realise that they weren't built to last and are frankly nothing special with no hope of ever becoming rare and collectable (bear in mind that the factory churned out literally hundreds of the things and it hardly broke any records in terms of performance or uniqueness). Mine is now on 80-odd thousand miles and you can almost tell that it is nearly on its last legs - it burns fuel, won't start unless I turn the key and the way the CD's rattle in the glovebox slightly just shows how poor the build quality was on these cars. If mine ever manages to haul itself to the frankly unachievable mileage the OP refers to, I shall save myself the cost of advertising it and will have it towed to the local tip. Also, beware - at nearly ten years old the galvanisation will be dissolving and the in-built self destruct sequence will be about to start...

Good luck.

Just pop another 50k on it it will still be worth the same eh? You will join the real world when it comes to selling time,i live in the real world my b5 blew £14k over 4 years my b7 will do the same im sure so what? I accept that seems some dont eh,retaining 20% of its new price at 9 years old and 130k is bloody good and already has its rarity and uniqueness factored in,kid yourself otherwise i really dont care but your not helping those in the real world

Here in the real world you refer to the power of influence has a significant bearing on the values of other people's property. When a high proportion of potential buyers are on the receiving end of such ill-informed (you refer to knowledge of selling prices of two cars, one of which was yours so doesn't count) and negative advice, it is no surprise that residuals suffer. Yes it's now a ten year old model but who cares? And granted, when many people are tightening their purse-strings such a car won't be at the top of their shopping list. But please, if you want to destroy public opinion on the value of a car, do it to your own.

The B5 RS4 was and remains a phenomenal car the like of which is unlikely to ever be repeated. As the world re-awakens to the superiority of forced-induction performance values are sure to pick up. In the meantime, if the next 50k miles are anything like the last, I won't be needing any oil top-ups and the car will be exactly the same, with the small exception of the odometer reading.

You have blown out your own fire there,i have a fantastic memory of whats sold for what when it comes to rs4s and get sick of people trying to influence values up,especially people who havent a clue and only have 1 interest and thats talking values up beyond whats really happening out there in the hope of convincing everying via a forum these cars are worth more than they change hands for.Theres a massive difference of opinion/fact between current owners and owners who been through the actualy selling, now not only do these cars not loose value with mega miles put on them the world is about to realise every performance car should have turbos and they will be going up in value!! Crikey youve got it bad

Perhaps if some previous owners, who do not mind saying what price they sold their B5 for posted- when sold/mileage/spec/sale price etc. this would remove some speculation. It was the end of last year when i sold it so whether that makes this irrelevant is up to you to decide.

Sold Nov 09/TV-Black leather-alcantara bits-sunroof-B7 brakes-MTM 458-MTM alloys-Miltek-2 owner/ 52k Full Audi history £18,750.

This has been done to death and as people have said these cars like any cars are worth what someone is prepared to pay for them!

I look at Pistonheads and Auto Trader to get a fair idea of what the market is doing and also by looking at recently sold cars.

It the car is in good condition, has low miles and has some good history then it will sell for a good price but it will take time to sell because there is a very limited market for performance cars like the RS4.

LOL ... as if words on a forum are going to influence the market price of a used car

its the same old story, not specific to this model....every owner doesnt want to believe their cars not worth what they hope it is, and dont want to accept high miles equal low price REGARDLESS of condition

This is the world we live it....the REAL WORLD !
