Thanks lads hopefully an oil and filter change (booked into volkscentre Paul) will sort it out, trying not to think about it until next week as i've got a million things on at the moment, house alterations, kids, work, etc!
If its my whole box and not just the TC any ideas on where to get a replacement, that i'm not going to have to sell a kidney for?

There was some discussion on RS6.com about the quality of IPT's work. Worth having a look before you send your precious bits to the other side of the world ;)

True, I'd read some dodgy stuff about IPT a while back too but couldn't find many great alternatives. I'm still going to give them a go, soon.
I wish I could find a German alternative that did TC, VB upgrades or 'performance' ZF boxes like IPT advertise.

I had also found Surry Autos (topic on here), a UK ZF partner and they will rebuild TCs with ZF parts to ZF specs but as yet, they're untested. Seemed inexpensive though, for just a TC rebuild. Obviously dropping the donk is the exxy bit.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Yup. A new TC isn't that expensive. It's the labour to get it out and the high risk that a TC that goes hari kari will probably take your box out with it. The issue with this is that the box'll usually fail a while after the TC has been replaced which means that the engine and box has to be dropped twice... Expensive game. This is why it's generally done to change the TC and box at the same time.

Mine did something similar to that. Turned out (luckily) to be very low oil as one of the oil cooler pipes was leaking. Refilled and 'touch wood' it has been fine since.
Hopefully it will be something simple and no damage done :-)

Thanks JD I'm worried to bits about it being serious, hopefully it'll be ok when I get it checked out on Tuesday!
I'm always looking underneath it and alway park it in the same places at work and home but haven't noticed any oil leaks whatsoever ever? Which is worrying
I'm putting it to the back of my mind u till then.

Had the oil and filter changed in my gearbox today and sadly its still the same.
It's still slipping at low speeds, seems to be fine once your up and rolling but occasionly jumps out of gear did about 20 miles in it in a last gasp hope that it would come good but got steadily worse until I nursed it home and parked it up.
Any ideas on what to do next or where to put it for a proffesional diagnosis, I'm in north east Scotland and extremely pissed off / sad

I would let Grizz take care of it.. he can have the car collected so you don't have to crawl there..

Unfortunately, I don't think he takes kidneys and/or lungs as forms of payment though.. :(

Good luck dude..

He's already answered in this very thread. See above about 5 posts up.

Sorry to hear that lad. Worth a try though. Personally I'd get it down to Grizz on the back of an AA lorry.
