Horn sounds like a squealing donkey

Post by yogi » Thu Aug 05, 2010 8:17 pm

Something new every day. Today one of my horns decided to fail. Not that I use them much... 8)

Anyway, I figured out where they're located, does anyone know a real loud replacement which fits in there? No compresssor stuff though...

They're behind the fender somehow under the lights. Pretty sure I can get to them from below, will give it a try at the weekend.

Maybe something like that: http://www.autodino.de/autonews/2008/11 ... -der-welt/

Guess I'm out of that age anyway. But then...

I can think of a couple of situations where having your horn emulating a squealing donkey could be very useful, maybe even life-saving. However, all of the situations I can think of do not occur on earth, these all take place in "Planet of the Donkeys" type senarios.

As an aside: some questions for Yogi. Do you sprechen sie Deutsch? or more importantly, read German? Are you actually located in Germany?
My thinking is that you're in the heartland of all things German cars and maybe you could point out some great RS 6 aftermarket and tuning products from your part of the world. I've tried poking around with Google but I've found it difficult, not reading German and all. I'm sure a lot of us on here would be very appreciative.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Sure I'll be happy to help out with whatever. Just started posting a couple of days ago, have a look....

I'm well aware of the stuff out here in the heartland (hehe like it...), so translations or so are no problem.

Still couldn't find a proper horn yet though....

Agreed but it doesn't help when constructing searches or trying to figure out the 'reputable' outfits. Someone who sprecken ze lingo will pick up on what's hot and what's not. For example, our HMS exhaust issue, maybe there's another fabricator?

My horn also needs replacing, not had chance to take a look at it yet. I wonder if they are expensive from Audi?
