a summary of the state of affairs...and an effort to move be

Post by ArthurPE » Wed Aug 04, 2010 10:37 pm

please allow me to summarize:
some believe that...
-Audi is deceiving us and should be embarressed by the quality of their product
-the RS4 was over-rated in power, a violation of law
-ALL engines have 'excessive' deposits
-ALL are down 50HP due to deposits
-ALL engines will eventually fail due to deposit related cylinder scoring
-it can't be fixed, it's a consequence of the design, we are doomed
-apparently the engineering is so complex it can't be fathomed by man nor beast

current owners: be smart like sr71, unload the turd asap, probably the worse car ever made...
new owners: why? you had the benefit of sr71's, among others, knowledge and yet you still bought one...why?
potential owners: run...for the love of all good and holy DON'T do it!!!

oh yea, all DRC will fail and the car is slug slow, lol, another example of 'Truth in Engineering'...

have I missed anything? I certainly hope not...
Audi = inept, deceitful, crooks...can't engineer, hiding the truth from us, mis-rated the engine

I do not share these sentiments...

now that we have this concise summary, can we respectfully move on, and those that actually like our cars (what a bunch of 'ignorant' imbeciles, and want to have fun with them, instead of hide under the bed from deposits and drc oil, continue in a more positive vein?

because much more of the BS floating around here I'm taking mine into a concrete bridge abuttment at the maximum speed it will muster, I'm guessing at least 70 mph ;)

Fully Agree,
I've only had mine 2 weeks and sick of it.
at least with my last car, an aged for focus, i could check the cleanliness of the oil as it leaked out of the head gasket.
also, it gave feedback on the grip remaining on corners by,not one, but two, very sophisticated systems: under 60mph on roundabouts speed and grip can be easily ascertained by the angle of the car body to the road by cleverly engineered soft suspension. after 60mph, entry speed can easily be calculated by the number of spins the car makes before coming to a halt.
does the RS4 do any of this. No. It's just to busy clogging itself up with high octane fuel as it careers around corners at unfathomable speeds refusing to lean, spin, or give any other such feed back to the poor driver encased in that cheap bucket seat with inflating bolsters, that hold the driver in place and force them to look at the beautifully engineered console whilst being slowly cooled by air conditioning.
god i hate this car

I'm with ya...

thing gets 20 mpg and will do 150 mph +

it will scare the bee-jesus out of people on corners
and traction is so good I can pull stuck trucks out of snow banks

the dang thing is so solid the door closes like bank vault...
so quiet I have to crack the windows to hear the sport buttoned exhaust

runs with corvettes, makes people in 997's give pause, and despite all this, will putter around town in a perfectly civilized manner...
so reserved and refined, bold yet subtle, I can drive it without looking like some sort of poser choad...so rare and unique, only a real guy guy will know what it is...

can't stand the car

Are we honestly saying that we can send a cigar tube into space and whats more, send it into space, deploy its payload and land it without any human intervation once the flight has started - BUT we cannot fix an oil breathing issue on an Audi...? Catch can, WI to name two easy and quick fixes.

If you don't like the car then fair doo's, each to their own. Perhaps even share your experiences but don't slate the brand and make far reaching statements that you simply cannot justify. You state that "ALL engines are down 50hp due to deposits". How do you know?> Have you checked every RS4 motor worldwide and clarified the reason for HP being down? Lets keep this factual as others may not not be as well informed. And be very careful that you are not being slanderous.

Horses for courses guys. Accept that the car for one reason or another did not live upto your expectations and move onto another car or brand that does....AND this is coming from someone who is getting out of my RS4 after 4 months......

can i say that if your car is so bad then why dont you just sell it and buy something realy boring and then you can stop posting threads that just piss everyone off because im sure that for every one person that has a problem there are ten people who dont have any problems with there cars and they love them

tongue, insert into cheek

I love my car, and am apparently one of the few, judging from the majority of postings recently

imo it is an accurate statement of the sentiments and beliefs of some

all cars have deposits
deposits destroy engines and cause massive power loss
all engines will eventually be destroyed

it is not secret that I do not subscribe to this theory...

but how many times must we discuss it?
does it do any good?

why not ask Audi?

because obviously no one here has the 'answer' (or at least the one either party wants so hear)

and honestly, it has not been verified that it is even a problem to some of us...

so, we can continue to 'argue' the point, to no avail, or move on
NO ONE here is going to rectify it if it is a problem

Add me to the list that love their RS4 - after its recent spate of service campaign work it's running wonderfully and I've got back the full 110% "Cheshire Cat" grin every time I drive it effect.
