Alright guys,

I have a very standard metallic black S4, S reg, 80k miles which i got for a stupidly low price. I should really mod it a bit, but since I've got a warranty to cover the turbo's (which according to the people that know, fail at less than 100k miles) I will stay stock for now!

Great car though, no rattles, feels new, and performance to worry all the sad little boy racers in Milton Keynes...great stuff!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi,

I've been around on rs246 for about a year - just don't post that often! Had my silver S4 Avant for around 10 months - car is completely standard. No plans to mod at the moment, due to lack of funds - just bought a new house in December, plus car just had 40k service and now needs 4 new tyres (see other thread) Will probably chip it eventually, and possibly upgrade to 18" RS alloys?

I love the car, and plan to keep it for quite a few years... partly because I won't be able to afford to replace it with anything else in the same league
cheers,
Andy (silver S4 Avant - completely standard!)

Will get it checked out - 3rd gear seems like a non-event.

Actually I will agree that the overall performance of a stock S4 won't be much better than a Golf with that spec. However one thing I do remember about my S4 when it was stock is that when I changed into 3rd, that's when I really felt the torque. So your description of 'non-event' sounds like its not well.

Silver S4 Saloon 99V with 72k miles. Just bought it before Xmas, having looked for one for a while. Totally unmodified at the moment, but I decided to buy a slightly older, high mileage model, and the spend the money I saved on modifying it; having been influenced/corrupted by reading this site too much.

I would, therefore, like to meet someone who has an S4 with:

Chip - preferably AMD
Short Shifter -
Porsche Front Brakes - 993 TT or something which fits the standard wheels.
H&R Coilovers - or some other alternative suspension set up.

Ideally you will be an attractive female, with an interesting personality (i.e. you like Audis and Rugby), and a great deal of patience for this S4 virgin . However, ugly blokes are OK if the S4 has the above spec, especially if you live in the Essex/M11 corridor region. Does anybody go to the Essex meets in Chelmsford with any of these mods on their S4?

Yours,
Lonely Heart, Black Shadow
Silver S4 Saloon
MTM Stage 4 (385 bhp), Mov'it Front Brakes, RS4 Rear Brakes, H&R Coilovers, Tanoga Shortshifter.

98 Ebony Black Saloon. Had it nearly 2 years, car was modded from new. Now got 81k

Love the car to bits but getting itchy feet, either wait 2 years and get a B6 S4 or (dont shoot me, an M3) depending on prices in two years.

May change sooner and go for a boring 3.0 quattro, wouldn't mind a bit more comfort and cheaper running costs.

Anyone want to make an offer on the S4?

Hi Simon,

Has it had any reliability issues having being modded for the last 80k miles?

If you say 'no', I'll probably end up at AMD next week!
