Just checked the Audi Annual Reports for 2005 - 2009. Figures in there are:

Saloon Avant Cab

2007 2401 2191 700
2006 4384 2666 589
2005 556
2004 4

7665 5187 1490 = 14,342
Gone: 2006 B7 RS4 Avant (Phantom Black)

An engineer who has had more management training than he cares to admit!

Let's look at this to give it perspective.

I post numbers at 12:49 14,355

Arthur posts at 14:01 say they are incorrect, based on a post elsewhere which speculates about the numbers

http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=85738

At 14:05, Petrol-Dave posts stating it is 14,342

At 14:06 Arthur Denial King says they are correct. Till now he had repeatedly maintained 30,000 cars had been produced, and more for Germany than the total number of cars actually produced.

He knows he is wrong, so diverts attention to number of GTR's produced, one of his pet hates. Otherwise it is the 50k M3's & their rubbish engines

The number of cars is relevant for it is DRC we have been discussing, and many will recall Engineer Arthur & few others relied on the high 30K number, and put forward a lower number of failures for DRC to make their case look good.

The reality is that DRC is the biggest single acknowledged issue for RS4's.

blah, blah....blah, blah, blah

'perspective' does not apply in your case...

much less than 1%, order of magnitude...
out of the ones repleced in the service action in the States (>200 by now)
not one has failed the pressure test...failure rate = 0%
leaking does not = failure
<12 bar = failure
so I surmise all the ones you count in you thread as 'failures' were not, only a goodwill gesture by Auid, eg, they replaced perfectly good systems...

Just one Dealer in the UK has worked on 200 cars, out of 3000 cars that came to the UK. These are failures, not precautions.

Never mind anyone else, but Petrol-Dave will no doubt tell us if his system was a "perfectly good system". And he is an Engineer.

BTW, what is the source of your data -Johan at AoA? Your source on total numbers built was completely out.
