Now I love my Rs4 as does teh wife, in fact I can see me loosing it to her.

The FSI gunk problem is not really something I'm overly concerned about. Surely it can't be a as bad as the ole mayo problems we saw in the 80's on the crap that BL, ford etc used to produce

Mercedes are very aggressive in their lease pricing when a new revision or even minor update comes out.... And sell bucket loads (I know from twice trying and failing to get my hands on a new C class). The residuals are so good they can give very good lease deals even though the cash price is still very high.
