Emmm, don't crash it.
Personally I'd defo change to a GTR (had a 33 GTR), but need to find 20K.......think next car maybe a Maseratti though (when I can spell it).
I think that is where my money is going, a Maserati GT MC Grand Sport in Fuji Blanca with carbon trim. Mmmmmm.

My brother-in-law has a GT-R and yes it's fast and exciting but for me it's just too "in your face" - I guess one of the things I love about the RS4 is it's stealth, and you won't get that with a GT-R.

I just love watching the local spotty faced cruise kids look as granddad leaves them for dead at the traffic lights in his boring estate...

That summarises the RS4 for me, as it was with the RS2.

They still won't hear my exhaust (even in Sport mode) above their 6" "drainpipe" exhaust and hearing threatening "music"!

The GTR is fine piece of kit, lets be fair. It could well be one of the fastest point to point cars available today but it is very different to the '4. For me I have a wife and 2 kids and need the space and practicality of an estate but if I did not, my shopping list would be very different - bring on the AM Vantage V12...! But however you paint it, the GTR is probably one of the most capable cars of the decade.

The issue with the transmission was the primary drive shaft in the box (I think). The early ones had splines that did not taper.....the newer ones do taper and this cures it.

Apparently they have new software for it to help protect the transmission. Along with the revisions mentioned by TartanRob. It is also possible to upload this to the '09 cars although I'm not sure if they have had the mechanical changes by the time they were released.

Here you go Tartan_Rob, taken from the warranty book for a MY2010 car.

"The MY2010 Nissan GT-R features enhanced programming that will optimize clutch-engagement control for improved driveability. The maximum RPM for initial start with VDC ON has been increased, providing increased power at launch with smooth and powerful acceleration which will be improved compared to the original specification MY2009 vehicles prior to implementation of this upgrade. Maximum RPM at launch with VDC OFF (which should only be used when stuck in snow or mud) has been decreased, and acceleration with VDC OFF will be moderated".

Will make it quicker off the line with traction control on :-) and much slower with it off (which is forbidden by the draconian warranty anyway) Clearly to stop damage from using it as a dragstrip car with no traction control i.e. wheels all spinning at different speeds causing transmission damage.
