C5 RS6. Not officially selling........but!

Post by ecain63 » Thu Jul 08, 2010 7:42 am

If the right price / buyer comes along then its gonna go. The C6 is just too tempting for me and im at arms reach as far as funds go. If the right price isnt met then it'll stay for a while longer.

Daytona RS6 Avant 2003

Interior:

Natural leather (much tougher than other leather) creamed regularly
Dark alcantara head lining
Piano Trim
Immaculate carpets.
New mats at 80k
Paddle shift
Sunroof
Rubber Boot liner
New Tool kit in boot.
All the rest of the usual RS refinements

In my opinion this had to be one of the tidiest 6's in the land. 93k and it looks like its only done 30k. There are no dents, scratches or otherwise. The only bits not 100% are the side skirts due to stonechips on the edges. Other than that the paint is immaculate. No parking dings, no wobbly panels, nothing. No squeeks, rattles or hisses. This car is absolutely perfect. Health checked at MRC in April (only problem was intercooler leak which they fixed) and pulled very good figures after the map.

Comes with both keys and fobs, service book, a zillion receipts (all stored in date order - in a file cos im anal), warranty etc.

Like i said, its not really for sale as such so dont ask me if i want to sell for peanuts. If the right buyer comes along then it'll go. Gotta go at £17k+ im affraid or it just aint worth it. The car needs nothing so really its a bargain.
If you wanna talk turkey then please either email me or phone me on 07854615512.

Thanks guys. Hopfully someone will come along with the right figure. I do love the car though. Test drove a C63 tonight and i like the RS much more. Its nicer inside and quicker too.

Good luck with your sale ... glad you've made a decision but hope you don't regret it.

We've obviously got the best two C5s in the land ... mine's only done 42,000 miles.

I would tear your arm off if only it had lower miles or had a new g box. Seen 2 now with below 50k on them and not been that impressed.

Good luck with the sale

For what it's worth ... I think it's a great buy ! ... but I've got 2 other motors in the garage & a 3rd on the way ...

Seems daft me having a 2nd C5 ..

Why should it need a new box? Its 100% sound with nom slippage what so ever (you can check if you want). And besides, most go within the first 40k (look at the thread on here for failed vs not failed). Past that most are reliable so long as you dont put too much torque through it. As for mileage: I'd personally rather buy a regularly used, frequently serviced and maintained model than one thats sat in a garage for weeks at a time and needs all the hoses etc replacing due to lack of use. Its a got a warranty too which you'll struggle to get anywhere else. Sub 50k ones have probably been garage queens, which i nice if you are a collector but they do need running.

What doesn't the warranty cover? I know what your saying about the box but it's just a piece of mind thing i suppose.
Please don't take what i have said the wrong way.
It really does look a stunner.

I agree with all of that....I think possibly the worst thing you could do on a car like this is not run it regularly

As great as an odometer does look starting with a 4 or 5, I think its prob an accident waiting to happen for your wallet, we all know how much these things cost to keep tip top...Eddie's "war and peace" folder is proof of that !

The warranty covers everything pretty much (hence the 'extra car' tag). The gearbox and all its componenets are covered so thats good to know, along with the engine and all its ancilliaries. The only thing i couldnt claim on was the gearbox sump pan that was leaking. They only cover the leak if it requires the box / engine to be removed. No big deal that one as its in the policy book, i had it replaced at my cost. They have changed the DRC for coilovers, had new alternator, new oil cooler and intercooler and all the hoses. So really they are actually very good. Through a bit of research it looks like there are only 2 or 3 decent companies out there. Audi are the best but charge £2.5k a year for a premium. Warranty Direct (who im with) are good and so far have been fair on paying up, but they now only do renewals due to the high cost of repairs (premium is circa £750 a year and ive claimed thousands). Cant remember the 3rd lot but the rest wont touch the RS6. Like i said, the low mileage ones might be tempting, but do they have a warranty and is it gonna cost you in the long run?
