2nd service

Post by STURS4 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:50 am

My 07 RS4 is in for a service today. It will be its second service, the car has done 19,500 miles.

I was wondering what work should be carried out for this car, this age and milage?reason being i picked the car up a few weeks ago and the service light came on before it left the forecourt so audi said they would do the service for free,so i dont want them to miss anything out so they save money or whatever.

Break fluid is the only thing i have to pay for.

any info much appreciated,

cheers

It's probably right that the service is all you need. It's possible that your front brake pads might be low also at 20k miles. Also get them to check for any "service updates". There may be an engine SW update, oil cooler pipe corrosion check and service update and also there was a spare wheel well cracking recall. While it's in I would also specifically ask them to check the DRC suspension for an signs of leaks.

Hope this helps.

Suggest you get it off the variable service, such long intervals between oil changes isn't good for the engine.

cheers guys,

They have done a basic service,i.e oil and filters.dont think its on long life but i usually get an oil change at least every year anyway with all the cars i have owned.coil packs last longer than i expected too.It also had a recall with the oil cooler pipes but that was it.

All seems to be well thanks for your help.
