Tyre advice - required...

Post by NCA01 » Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:21 am

Hello All,

I need your help / advice this morning...
Some of you will remember me as I am the Noggy Blue B6 Avant owner who was nearly taken out by a faulty bonnet catch. Well after months of fighting with the insurance company the car has been repaired by Ridgeway Audi Oxford at their body shop in Newbury. New bonnet, panels, windscreen, roof skin and the car has had a complete re-spray. Total cost to my insurance company of £4250!!

She has been off the road since 11th April... and during this time has required an MOT. So the stealers have just put her through and she failed on three tyres. So some questions if I may:
1) Should I let the Stealer replace them? I have few deals with suppliers here in Brackley as I work for one of the F1 teams.
2) What tyres are you guys running / recommend. It has Conti's on there at the moment and I have been happy with them.

Views and comments welcome!

Many thanks,
NCA

Stay clear of the stealers. If you can buy them somewhere else at discount do it. I am running F1 Assymetrics and there are good. Got grip in all weather. Slight tyre roar though. When I first got the car, 5yrs ago, it had new Conti's fitted, 2's I think, and they were awful. Changed them immediately. This months evo rates the conti 4(?) really highly. But the tests were carried out on a Golf and we are big lardy so they might not perform the same.
