Solar Roof
How does it work? I've never seen my one working?
RE: Solar Roof
cools your car on a hot day, got into mine this lunchtime car had been sitting in the sun all morning and the fan was running and interior was a nice cool temp.
RE: Solar Roof
You can hear the fan running when you leave the car in the sun. I'm not sure how well it works. I suspect it's a bit of a gimmick. One thing it does extremely well is to fill the car with condensation if there's the slightest hint of rain
PS, I know there's a fix for this, but one quick look at the procedure convinced me that I could live with the condensation!

Are you referring to installing a strip of tape on the two electrical contacts at the front of the sunroof?Shoppinit wrote:............ One thing it does extremely well is to fill the car with condensation if there's the slightest hint of rain

PResumably, snoopra's fix is to prevent current flowing from the solar panel, effectively turning it off. I might investigate and give this a try.

Yes, it prevents sending power from the solar roof. Just use painter's tape and apply to the power contacts on the front corners of the roof.Shoppinit wrote:PResumably, snoopra's fix is to prevent current flowing from the solar panel, effectively turning it off. Maybe yours have been deactivated. I know loads of people have done it to stop their cars misting up on cold wet days.
Does yours ever mist up?
If not then it is not active.
I can hear mine on most days.
Works a dream in the summer but awful on a cold wet day.
I have just got used to it and blast the windscreen for 2 minutes before taking off.
