A bit far from me (London) - otherwise I'd have obliged

Not sure what you're having issues with - is it downloading the software or knowing how to use it? I'm fairly rubbish with VAG-COM, but have done the lights quite a few times

Adaptation channel 10 of address 55 (called Headlamp range control from memory) - just change it from 0 to 1 (under Tourist option)

Just to confuse, some cars give an audible chime and flash the headlamp warning light on startup, but mine (and many others) don't!

I don't believe it is the website; as it is a company machine I don't think it likes me downloading unknown software on to it wiithout permission.

So I've packed a VagCom lead, Road Angel Radar detector, Performance Box, Sony HD video camera with glass mount and a Canon S20 digital camera - what other gadgets do we need?

If the Road Angel has laser detection, remember that it's illegal in France (and possibly other countries - best to check)

It's not unknown for them to search the car - especially if they see the bracket or stop you for some reason - and can (I believe) impound the vehicle if they find one

12v coolbox in the boot, looks like I'll have room to fit one in.

Think we have the two-way radios sorted! Plenty of SD cards/i-Pod/CD's full of music unless you're a follower of Eurovision (radio is poo).

Radar detectors according to the AA website are now illegal in all European countries. Car Fridge out of box and ready to go in the car plus full size spare wheel / tyre just in case anyone has a puncture / blowout. I'll try Rosstech again tonight.

Just got to get Autoglass to repair the driver side wiper arm they bent whilst fitting a scratched windscreen! Grrr! :x

I'll have mine with me Peter.

A good site for the Ring is Ben Lovejoy's www.nurburgring.org.uk with lots of useful info.
