What sort of insurance cost can I expect??

Post by Coxall8395 » Wed May 26, 2010 11:36 pm

Hi there looking to buy a C5 RS6 avant, possibly modified but not engine/gearbox mainly chassis. I am 38, solicitor, wife is 34, teacher. Both clean licence and four years no claims, car garaged in Bexley.

Current car is M3 E46 conv. Cost for that was £600 a year.

Am I in for a shock if I insure an RS6 and is a tracker compulsory?

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm a 35 Trading Manager, my wifes the same age and is a Nurse. I have 6 points and 7 years no claims.

I'm insured with Swift Cover and my premium is £550 but has a £550 excess. No tracker was required.

try swiftcover.com - they have a pretty quick online quote system

all the other quotes for me were £700 - £900+ directline, tesco, admiral, etc...

swiftcover came back with £426.....yeeeeeeeee---haaaaaaaaaaaah.

by the way i'm 44 protected ncd, a couple of speeding SP30's in the last 5 years, garaged with tracker in lincs.

Location is always a massive influence. Northern Ireland is high full stop but the cheapest for me is £1016 - 5 years no claims protected 3 currents points but 6 declared (up to 5 years) age 34.

The insurance cost is nothing compared to running it.

Oh how true!
I'm paying about 260 a year with a 5k miles limit, 35 years old living in Lincolnshire. Full protected NCB included. A single front Plus disc cost me more than my annual premium! ;)

Yep - £500 for four new Vred's last Monday, and £1600 for new discs and pads all round tonight - insurance is the cheap part!

Tracker was fitted as standard IIRC

I found Admiral cheapest at around £800 with full ncb, 12k a year, Bucks - 38 year old IT middle manager. Not sure if Tracker made a difference, or "mods" - the replaced suspension - for that matter
