Out of interest was there any reason why you used an Audi dealer and not a specialist to fit your disks and pads? I only ask as mine need doing soon and I wasn't thinking Audi dealer.

I was having the work done together and actually worked out cheaper....its not what you know its who you know

Mine is very jerky to drive - noticeably in 1st and 2nd gear - for the first few miles until warmed up - she's a 06 car, could I benefit from SW0090? Not sure what's she's on now. She does the whole 'kangarooing' bit until I settle her in 3rd gear and this is even now when the ambient temp is +15 C. Shall I request SW0090, what do you think?

Loving the 0090 that I had installed just before I went on holiday.

The throatier exhaust note accelerating away from a French peage booth has fully restored the "Cheshire Cat" factor - it sounds amazing compared to 0080.

BTW finally managed to do a 3k-8k acceleration run while on holiday, 8.3 seconds for an Avant with 3/4 tank of Total Excellium 98 indicates ahealthy rengine I reckon.

I noticed the difference too, esp on cold start up with the Millteks. its bloody loud, only down side is early hour start us, my neighbour loves me now.

Thought 0090 was only for cold starting? How does it effect the exhaust note (once warm)?

If the injection and spark timing strategy is different it can affect how forcefully the spent gasses are expelled from the cylinder, and hence affect the exhaust note at all times.

It's definitely there as others have mentioned, and as my wife, brother and sister-in-law can confirm.

BTW had a great holiday near Nevers in France, including a trip to the former F1 circuit at Magny-Cours (unfortunately the Ligier Museum was shut), and brought over 100 bottles of wine and champagne back with us (which is another reason I love the RS4 Avant).

So Sonny, overall - was the upgrade to SW0090 worth it? Mines is booked in for same but only due to the cold start stuttering which is pissing me off - kangaroing along the road after leaving my drive (wasn't a prob on last commute as car was stationary for 3-4 mins prior to starting journey).

Only concern is what "others" have stated about the change in power delivery. Can't really see it making any difference. Also in previous posts bods have mentioned that its hard to remove the upgrade firmware if installed.....

A few seconds with VAG-COM (VCDS) will tell you your current version.

IIRC there are some US owners running 0090.

Mines still a pig for the first mile or so on sw0090 and its also been tuned and custom mapped @ MRC so beginning to wonder if its a characteristic of the car? Mine had new plugs fuel/air filters etc at the same time as tuning and full scan via shows no codes/faults so ......
