Where were B7 S4’s made?

Post by R33 » Mon May 17, 2010 9:55 am

When I was looking to buy my B7 S4 I noticed that they either seemed to be made in 2005 or 2007 but not in 2006, well not any I spotted anyway. Were they made in the normal factory with the A4 or were they made in the Quattro factory like the RS models? No real reason for asking, just curious really. :D

Normal build at Ingolstadt factory (letter a towards the engine of the chassis number)
Mine is a 2006 model year car registered 1/9/05
Milltek had a 54 reg B7 demo car
I haven't seen many B7s so it's hard to work out a trend.
I have seen a 54, not an 05, a 55, not an 06 or 56, an 07 and an 08

Thanks for that, I guess they just ran them through the production line in batches, or stopped selling them for a while in the UK when the higher road tax band came in just to test the water to see if there was an ongoing demand for such cars.
