Hi all, quick update. I called them back today, and either because they eventually put me through to someone who seemed know what he was talking about, or because I name dropped Eddie loads of times, they said they could renew at 795.

Although I said I didn't think it was cost effective, these past few days I've already started flinching at every little rattle, so I paid up and am now at peace with the RS!

I remembered at the weekend that my warranty with Warranty Direct was due up in May sometime. I pulled out the paperwork to find it expires tomorrow! I couldn't recall receiving any renewal invitation and although the paperwork says they can roll it over automatically I felt sure they would have contacted me first.

I gave them a call today fearing that they may chose not renew but I was worrying unnecessarily. They said they issued me with a renewal quote at the beginning of April - I've no recollection of getting it but there was no issue and I renewed for exactly the same as last year - £598 for 13 months...

That is cheap. Is that the extra care pack or standard cover?

This is familiar to me - my cover expired completely and when I called them they said they did post a renewal out to me. When I challenged them about not receiving it I was next told they won't cover RS6s anymore.

I mentioned to them that my suspension was renewed with coilovers anyway, so this should not be a problem for them, and they then said they'd look into it for me, but no call back ever came.

I called them today to ask why they never called me back, to be told they WILL now cover me as they know the car, but it will cost me £60 inspection fee and then £850 for 12 months! This was for me telling them I will do less than 6000 miles per annum and I already have coilovers, and it was just serviced in April!

A lack of consistency here I believe saying as we drive the same vehicles yet prices are far from uniform!

Perhaps the two claims I had was the reason they wouldn't renew mine this year.

I claimed on mine last year and had no dramas renewing. These guys are not losing money, they are making it hand over fist. If you pay your premeium then the risk is theirs. You should not be struck off for claiming, thats what the warranty is for.

Agree but it seems they are "loading" premiums for previous claims.

The premium they're trying to charge me makes me think it's not worth it for the slim chance anything else will go wrong with my car.

not had a claim yet , tryed to claim for a rubber pipe that failed on the nearside front shocker ,guess what they refused saying they do not cover pipes .Although I did have some contact with a head boy at the company his name escapes me at the mo, he wanted to look at my claim to see if the underwriters would pay due to how the suspencion works . As we all know this is a major part of how the drc works . But he has vanished of the planet , when i asked to make it a customer complaint. BTW they do keep themselves up to date with this site ,BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
