ABT --> Revo for RS4

I am looking at changing my ABT ECU to Revo system. Is it worthwhile to do?? [img]images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

One of the pros I can see is Revo can be re-mapped easier than ABT. Any cons I should look out for??? [img]images/graemlins/acclaim.gif[/img]

Not sure what the warranty terms are in HK-SAR but I thought here in GB the Abt ECU does not iinvalidate the Audi warranty.

Otherwise the benefits of a custom map have been highlighted on this site although don't know if the Revo map will be a customised one.

All modified ECUs invalidate warranty in the UK

Is the Abt a customised map?

My ABT was installed by Audi HKG. Therefore, warranty is not a problem. However, the mapping was base on a standard RS4. Now I have installed a number of enhancements and I was thinking Revo can fine tune the car a little more!

I thought that when the price of the Abt remap doubled here in the UK this followed the decision by Audi to make them an official tuner and hence maintain the warranty. If this is not the case then I've learnt something new.

Nope....other Abt stuff is warranted but not the chip. (Audi UK this is)

In Switzerland, heard that ABT chips modification are only recognized by Audi if they are made on a brand new car. Wanted to make this upgrade on my second hand S4 2 years ago and got this answer from an Audi dealer.. [img]images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

I thought to invalidate a warranty they had to reasonably
prove that the modification was responsible for the
failure???

I don't think anyone is suggesting the whole warranty is negated, just the warranty on the related parts.
