limiter

I was out showing of to some mates the other night. I tried to show them how quick my new beast is and when accelerating hard on an open stretch of road it felt like the limiter kicked in before the speed it should do. Any ideas anyone

I'm lead to believe (Evo's test) they kick in a little later than 155 so something dosn't seem quite right.

Next time you're in Germany give it another try?

Or just have it removed

Standard limiter on a C6 RS6 is at 156.875 mph or 251km/h. That's ECU speed, no speedo speed, there are slight differences between the 2 of them, as a speedo always has to be a little optimistic by EU law since 1990-something. ;)

Mine's the opposite! It's hasn't had the derestrict option but while on the autobahn ;) I saw 170mph confirmed with my road angel.
Not sure how quick it would have gone before the limiter would have kicked in as I chickened out after that :)

My old M5 and M6's used to hit 174Mph - which is apparently a press limiter.

and if you have the 178mph option what does that restrict it to?
Can't beat a bit of boost!

What option is that Bushy?

Pretty sure std Audi is 250km/h or 280km/h (155mph or 174mph) as per the "big three"'s euro agreement on family cars :?:

My car had the 174mph option (Listed as "Top speed restricted to 174mph (280km/h) including carbon design package for engine bay" in the brochure).

That'd be a nano-second after the change-up from 5th to 6th then.
