what model is my rs6?

Post by zsivany » Sun May 09, 2010 9:08 am

hey guys it has been long :-)
my car is going well. chip/gearbox is sorted, everything. :-)
i have been thinking: my car cant be a stock rs6, as it comes with factory fitter sport exhaust, brembo (lomb gallardo) brakes and 5 spoke mags.
all the other rs6s i saw came with standard stuff.
r these factory upgrade options or is this more like and rs6+?

The front brakes on the standard RS6 are brembo.

I believe there was an factory option for a sports exhaust.

The 19" 5 spoke alloys were standard in the UK. Other countries had the 18" 9 spoke RS4 B5 type alloys as standard with the 5 spoke as an option. In the USA I believe the 5 spoke option wasn't available.

Sounds standard to me :)

All B7 RS4's and C5 RS6's in the UK/Europe had the 8-piston Brembo calipers up front as standard.

They're still made by brembo, although they are not marked as such. I'm sure there are also brembo kits that you can put on the RS6. Can you post a photo? Would make identification easier :) Would also be interesting to see the zorsts :)

You can use the options decoder to find out what options your car had as standard. Your option codes are written at the beginning of your service book and look like:

1GW
2MC
4LD

etc. I made those up (expept for the 2nd one - standard DRC :) )

Sports exhaust was an option in the US if i recall correctly. It does amaze me that the brakes vary so much as they were all made in the same factory.
