Very Depressing

Post by JJRS4 » Wed Jan 07, 2004 5:39 pm

How many others feel this way.

The bottom line is I love my RS4. I like the look, the uniqueness, the sound, in fact everything about the car.

I don't want to get rid of it. In fact I would rather there wasn't a new one in the pipeline. What do I do? I can't afford two, so do I sell mine and buy the new one and lose one of the greatest looking cars around, or do I keep mine and forget about the new one.

Will the new one be as unique? No, there will be no limited supply so they will be common as muck.

Will the new one look as good? No, Audi, will never spend as much on body work as they did for the current RS4. In any case the new shape with deep body and small windows looks awful.

Will the new one have a V8? Yes. Who needs it. High fuel consumption, American sound. V6 is the only way. Easily enough power and great sounding. The JAG XJ220 had one and that was quite fast.

Will the new one have better brakes? I guess so.

So, what's the answer?

Make the new RS4:
1) Limited in numnbers
2) Amazing bodywork
3) V6 twin turbo
4) Better Brakes
5) Better suspension
6) Electric Seats that remember where they used to be before the service.

Do these things and I may let go of my existing one.
Standard RS4 (is it the only standard one left?)

I must say, Jeremy.
All of what you said is true and that are the facts!
I hope Audi will make a car for Europe and not for America!
No V8 (without turbos)!
No high fuel consumption!
Just a V6 biturbo!

That is all we want, Audi

Not only depressing.

I cant imagine being without it at the moment. What on earth can I replace it with ?

I total agree the body of the current RS4 and the V6 engine biturbo is sensational!
The V8 engine is good but a new V6 biturbo would be perfect!

I have to agree:

1. Gotta have turbos
2. Gotta have my creature comforts
3. Gotta make the new A4 shape (and interior) look nice
4. Gotta be affordable

Basically it's gotta be better than what I have now.

I was thinking about it today and i came to a conclusion that it's really sad that soon our rs4s will be those older ones... i really love the car... i have fallen in love with it after the first time i saw it in a magazine... i really wanted to have one... then i got one and it's the best thing i can imagine to drive... i had some thoughts about 996 turbo but i think that it wouldn't be better as an every day car... maybe as a second one, but now i have both - porsche and an A4 in one amazing body, what more do i need?

and if you ask me i'm sure that new rs4 will not look better than our cars. i don't know actually why do i think this way, maybe because of my deep feelings for the actual car but that's just what i think.

another thing is that they should'nt produce new rs4 at all... there was no such thibg as new rs2... rs2 will always be an rs2... while soon after being asked about the car we drive we will have to answr one more question - the new or the old one?

let's hope they won't finish the new rs4 for a long time so we can have some more fun with our joy-machines

You RS4 owners are unbelievable!!!
You've all got a fantastic car that's the dog's b***ocks (apart from the RS6 of course )and understandably you're all besotted with it. You've had a fantastic few years looking the biz and driving a car that anybody with the slightest bit of car knowledge would give their right arm for. Great. And then what happens?????

Audi GMBH, a commercial company with a financial necessity and motivational desire to move on, decide to bring out a faster, more sophisticated version that will be an ADVANCEMENT on what already exists- and what is the reaction??

A:FANTASTIC!!!let's look forward to my big motoring event of the next couple of years- I'll pay my £1000 deposit and spend the next 18 months savouring the anticipation of speccing it up, taking delivery, showing it off etc etc
OR

B: Find it VERY DEPRESSING - for God's sake you have'nt even seen the bloody thing yet!- not even a picture!

When I heard there was a new RS6 coming I found it VERY EXCITING!!!
For the life of me I cannot understand your reaction

Interesting to see the critical post come from an RS6 owner.

Perhaps never having owned an RS4 they don't quite understand.

How about an official RS246 letter to Audi.

We, the undersigned, being current RS4 owners (many of us from new) and enthusiasts looking forward to the next RS4, would like to draw your attention to the following:................

How many would sign?
