Think its time to part with my RS4 - Azure Blue

Post by polly_x » Thu Apr 22, 2010 8:02 pm

After 2 years of ownership I think I am about ready to part with the RS.

No real reason other than I fancy a change.

Just not sure what to price it at.

Its a really rare colour (Azure Blue) which I am led to believe there are only maybe 2 or 3 of and has the light grey interior with carbon pack and Nav/TV etc. Not sure if this makes it worth anymore?

Its a 2001 and I am the second owner. Has 63K on the clock with full history. Main dealer water pump and belts at 40K etc.

It looks totally standard and was standard until about 50K miles when I had the MRC custom map, Milltek, H&R ARB's and B7 front callipers fitted. It also had the better bypass valves and new air flow sensor fitted at the time. So its got some sensible mods.

Its almost immaculate on the outside bar a couple of scratches that you would expect on the underside of the bumper. My missus has caught the 2 front alloys so I will get them refurbed before it goes.

I also fitted the Witter detachable tow bar system.

Has the usual tracker, service books, bluetooth, Tax, MOT etc too.

Just a good honest car with no dodgy history that was owned from new for 7 years by the previous owner.

What do you think is a fair price for this?

I'd say £16-17000...?

Posting up some pics will help and the colour should help too!

Sounds like a nice example with a good spec.
It's got to be worth at least £18K I'd say, possibly more as it's low owners / mileage.
A dealer / specialist would have that advertised for £22K......

Good luck with the sale. :nodder:

I would say at least £18k too. Prices are coming back again! Don't sell yourself short, especially if you don't need to sell it!

Rare colour also! (like mine)

Suggest you pm all the recent sellers REPEAT sellers and ask them of levels of interest and actual selling prices, this will be a REAL guide as to the current market for b5s,look at all the selling posts on here and read the comments "1k too cheap" etc then later in the thread the car is reduced further from the already "too cheap" price to secure a sale,This car is similar to my old one as in high spec/low miles fully sorted etc car that was sold on a week ago,Contact s4driver he asked £16k and sold for a mutualy agreeable price so £15k+,r5cpk sold a more standard low mileage one for considerably less,Theres half a dozen guys on here recently sold pm them all and make your own mind up,were the hell "prices are coming back from" comes from i really would like to know, suggest recent sellers are contacted for the REAL picture

Would add mine is for sale, originally at £16995, and has come down now to £15995, still with little interest...

Our Specs, mileage etc is different but all depends on what a buyer wants, and how long you're prepared to wait before you sell.

Low mileage / owner, well spec'd examples still fetch good money, look at Nils £25K +.

There seems to be a separation on value of multiple owner / higher miles and low owner / mile examples, one’s going up and the other is down.

You might have to wait it out, but it will sell.

Azure blue very rare...I would start at £17-£18k depending upon how quickly you want a sale, every car will receive different levels of interest depending upon the car itself!

I find avus silver as common as muck but its a buyers market! I would aim high to begin with

If you look down a few posts I started a poll to gather for RS4 B5 colours. Judging by that Azure blue is more common than Goodwood Green ! Of course it might mean that all the Goodwood Green owners do not frequent this forum :D
