poor performance
invest the time to take it to a decent Audi centre, such as Camberley... Even York managed to fix my power issues, although don't use them!

down on power
right i listened to the main stealer and was not prepared to pay their prices so fitted new plugs new coils and tried it again still falls flat above 3k rpm so checked air box flap and it was sticking so i took it out and retried still no better ,this car has been the biggest bag of crap ive ever owned and im dammed if im going to give them £85 an hour (discounted because your a good customer) to put it right again after 5 attempts ,surely someone must have had the same prob and has had it sorted ,please Gary
Gary, reading through your symptoms I have to agree with Northerpar that you will probably need to have the car put on a RR and run power and torque graphs, ideally also graphing fuel pressure etc... the whole point of it being that you can provide evidence of an issue.
You should write to your Audi dealer and let them know what you intend to do prior to doing it and ask for their comments. In this way you are letting them know your intentions in providing evidence as to an issue that you feel is apparent in the car. Ultimately your dealer could suggest they won't accept any RR figures as evidence as to the car's mechanical state, in which case I think that gives you a whole heap of reasons to talk to Audi UK! However hopefully they might suggest you take the car to a mutually appointed RR at your cost and have it tested. If there is an issue they pay for the RR and the subsequent repairs, if there is no issue you end up paying the few quid for the test and unfortunately keep on scratching your head.
As to the problem it could be a whole load of things, ignition side (sounds like you've changes plugs and coils...) but there are still the leads, ECU etc... fuel side there could be fuel starvation (dodgy pump, dirty lines, blocked filter, poor regulator, blocked air somewhere) etc... and these are before anyones looked into the other myriad electrical issues.
The point being that to try and manually find the problem it may take you hours and hours and a fistful of unnecessary new parts. Even then you may not find the root cause to the issue. However, if you can prove there is a problem by spending a few quid on a RR test then you can leave Audi to find the cause and remedy to the problem. Again because you instigated the complaint prior to the end of the warranty Audi should come to the party. If they don't they should at least offer some assistance... but that is for you to discuss and negotiate with them but I agree with Npar here, just because you are recently over your warranty, the fact you drew their attention to it prior to expiry it should hold you in good stead.
Good luck with it and let us know what happens either way!

Sorry to hear of your problems, Gary; sounds very frustrating. I couldn’t have put up with it for two years and the numerous, fruitless, visits, to the same dealer, without at least seeking out an alternative dealer for a second opinion. My own car has had a few teething problems, and I’ve been on here looking for opinions, but unless you have a shed load of specialist kit, and the training to use it, are you going to be able to sort it yourself, anyway. If your dealer had a clue, you wouldn’t be on here in the first place.
The suggestion that the problem is irrelevant because it only occurs at a point in the rev range, which is only seen at speeds above the national speed limit, is quite ludicrous – (yes I’ve heard it before) – and it doesn’t hold any water at all! I’m sure you are not encouraging anyone to drive at illegal speeds to replicate the fault: I think you mention that an Audi employee has actually witnessed the problem – this should be enough to ensure steps are then taken to rectify it.
As the car is now out of warranty, the cost of a fix may now have to be born out of your own pocket. As someone said, once the fault is rectified, it may be that it can be back charged to Audi - maybe! Suggest that you contact Audi UK and explain that you have lost confidence in the dealer in question, and you intend to take the car elsewhere – and given the history, you hope the cost will covered. I suspect they will give no guarantees. After two years of frustration, you may just wish to have done with your problems and trade the car against something else. Good Luck, what ever you decide.
