Thoughts chaps??
From Audi UK T&C
Body protection warranty
All current Audi vehicles are fully protected during manufacture against rust attacking the internal cavities of the bodywork for
12 years from the date of fi rst registration.
The only preconditions are:
• The defect must be reported to a member of the Audi authorised network as soon as it is discovered. This must, of course, be
within the warranty period
• The perforation must not have been caused originally by damage, neglect, insuffi cient care or maintenance, or by
external perforation from the inside out
• A member of the Audi authorised network must be advised about any perforation from the inside out immediately it is found
• All body repairs will be carried out promptly in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical guidelines, using only approved
parts and materials, in order to maintain the original level of anti-corrosion protection

Audi UK came back to me earlier today to say that the maximum they were will to pay towards the respray was 70%! After 30 minutes of 'firm' negotiation they agreed to discuss the issue with the claims manager. As the paint work is not perforated the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty should cover 100%. Pretty shocking that Audi would try and get out of it! They even tried to call the independent garage that sold me the RS6 back in January as they claimed that they should pay the missing 30%!
They said they'd call me back on Monday. I told them that I'd contract a paint specialist and charge it to them once proved that it is corrosion beneath the paint.
Didn't expect this nonsense from Audi UK, very disappointing.

It concerns me that some people seem to be getting potentially rippe doff with this paint warranty.
I'm beginning to wonder whether mileage has anything to do with it? I've just this morning hit 44k, and apart from the bubbling, the rest of the paint is fine.
How a computer can spit out "70%" is beyond me. It looks to be a completely different story depending on what dealer you see.
I'm really sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, but I reckon you've taken the right steps to get a specialist to look into this.
Best of luck

The issue doesn't seem to be the dealership but rather Audi UK warranty team. The dealership said they'd love to approve the work but need Audi UK to authorise it.
I think the Audi UK will come to their senses.....as I think the issue is that the Audi UK warranty person who is looking at the case is fixating on the 3 year paint warranty rather than the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. I've highlighted this to the Audi customer services chap I spoke to on Friday there and after he read through the 12 year corrosion T&C's he agreed with me that my car should be fixed 100% under warranty, as there was clearly no perforation to the paint.
Will keep you posted Monday with the outcome.

Update
I chased Audi UK this morning as I hadn't heard anything. Got a call back in the afternoon to say that, and I quote, 'the warranty department don't want to comment on why they originally only offered just 70% payout, but they are now prepared to cover the repairs to the roof bubbling 100%'!!
Will book her into Perth Audi for the same time the dash pod is replaced under warranty (faulty fuel gauge giving an empty reading when 1/4 shown at last shut down).

The fuel thing is common on these cars. Its not a fault as such, just a miscalculation by the computer.

Not neccessarily. Is it the usual 45 miles left in the tank when you turn off, then 0 miles the following morning? If you just drive it anyway then the mileage tends to go back to 30 or so within a couple of miles.

Doubt it. They all seem to be this way.
The dashpod was a big problem on the TT which would start off by doing wonky thinks with the fuel level then deteriorate into complete dash madness!

funnily enough I I had my car back yesterday from an independant garage who did the work for me because Cardiff Audi told me "no" saying my car had, had new paint levels on it - so should I take this further?
A nice sensible family estate

Would have been interesting to note what those new levels were.
It's my belief that as long as the area hasn't previously been resprayed (therefore outside of Audi's responsibility), you should be covered.
I wonder if that because there seems to be quite a few suffering from this, Audi have only just opened their eyes to the issue?
I don't think it would hurt to pursue it further, but only if you have confidence the area bubbling hadn't previously been repainted. The fact that the work has now been done may go against you on this occasion I fear

aRSe

Just found a small area of bubbling paint in my rain channel

I'd better check out the rest of the car before I take it in.
What do they do to fix it? Spray the whole roof? Can you tell it's been sprayed afterwards?
