Reset window closing with remote

Post by MB2 » Mon Apr 12, 2010 10:07 am

Replaced the battery & can't get the windows to close with the remote now ! Reset the remote so locks/unlocks the car & wound the windows up & down so one-touch works OK it is just the up/down with the remote that doesn't function - any ideas how to reset/restore functionality please ?

Well, I have fixed it ! The answer seems to be to wind each window up & down individually rather than 2 at a time & hold the button down not use the one-touch. Hope this helps someone else.

I think what you might have done is allow the ECU to re-learn where the window closed positions are so that now it's happy to close them itself?

If you have a hole in your roof it will even close that aswell - total closure :)

But don't bother enabling sunroof open from either key or remote - it doesn't work.

I changed my settings via VCDS so I can only close the windows via the remote & the key does nothing. I once managed to open my golf windows when locking the car (key in pocket bashing the button) so didn't want to take the risk but given you have to hold the button down probably not such a risk on the Audi. Does anyone use the button to open the windows when its hot or not bother ?

I have a couple of times, but can't say it's a "must have" feature.
