Cam engine rattle.

Some advise needed, looked at a 2002/70k car on saturday, been sat for a few weeks , but after 5 minutes running , there was still quite a cam tappet noise.
Do these engines have hydraulic tappets ?
It is on longlife service, had about 5 I think , probably due one , but noise concerns and any ideas on cost to replace ?

I've never had one with worn cams or tappets.. I would suggest a good oil flush..
