RS6 Saloon - Buying Advice
Akira,
Since you appear to be the most recent purchaser of a RS6 saloon, did the dealer offer deals on a brand new RS6? If so any worth taking?
I would find it hard to adjust to using a key again as well. Seems odd not to have keyless go on a £75k car ...
Funnily enough I also had my eyes on a second hand M6 Coupe. Drove one a while back. Loved the engine but it really needs to be revved but the SMG gearbox was awful at low speeds around town. Interesting to hear you swapped it for a RS6 saloon

I was lucky enough to take advantage at that time, new £82k spec for £60k a year ago to the day pretty much... with 7k miles on the clock now I'm looking peachygmk666 wrote:That was definitely the case last year. I was offered a delivery mileage £80k Avant for £62k last March, but due to all the uncertainty around back then, I didn't take it up. I believe Audi UK were subsidising the dealers to get rid of unwanted stock.jazzsalt wrote:Having a quick trawl through some of the previous posts it looks like quite a few forum members picked up unregistered, stock RS6s for pretty decent prices. That might well be another possible route to purchase. I hope the market hasn't moved since their car purchases.

Gotta say I'd not be at all upset to have paid more now... love this car, ticks all my boxes!!

I bought one of the red ones mentioned above, fully loaded, advanced key, sun roof, 178mph, soft close doors, sunroof, boot laod facility etc etc
THE only think I can tell you for sure is get the 3g MMI, the steam driven one is crap. I drive about quite a bit and it cant find some roads, has no idea on house numbers, even in roads with several hundred. I came back from Manchester a month or so ago and it thought i was driving through fields and totally missed the M6 toll road. But it did have iPod connection
My guess is you will be So impressed with the car after the Jag
Welcome aboard and a good thread

Having just taken del of my wifes S5 ( RS6 coming in June ), I must say how i love the comfort key its the DB's, the bluetooth phone connection is awesome too.
The option pack for the UK is very diff to Europe. I have added solar glass and solar sunroof, bootload system, comfort key. on top of Sports Plus pack.

I bought my unregistered sepang blue RS6 saloon in March last year. Pretty much the spec I wanted, fully loaded (de-restricted with carbon fibre dressing in the engine bay, advanced key, MMI 3G, solar elec. roof, adaptive cruise, side assist, power doors, double glazing, TV, electric adj. steering wheel, memory seats, rear camera, high beam assist, electric rear blind...).
There was a pretty generous 5 figure discount on the table...I couldn't say no could I

I couldn't really say on the current level of discounts on RS6's.jazzsalt wrote:Hope those deals are still around. Sepang Blue is definitely my favourite colour for the RS6 Saloon.
Are you happy with the car after 1 year of ownership?
March last year was a particular low point in the economy and of course car industry, so if you were willing and able the deals were there to be had. I actually held on to my RS4 at the time as the second hand values hit the floor as well. They recovered soon after and I got a pretty good price for it in June last year.
Car is a fabulous rocket ship. It is a completely different character to my old RS4, but i knew what I was getting into..maybe not the fuel consumption though

Colour wise old RS4 saloon was sprint blue and on a side by side comparison, the sepang blue on the 6 has a lot more indigo/violet which I personally think suits it better.
No real issues with car yet - touch wood - just the misty headlamps business which I'll look to get sorted under warranty next service. Overall a very happy bunny!!
I finally managed to test drive a RS6 saloon at the weekend at Watford Audi. The machine blew me away with its pace, usability and interior quality.
The standard engine/exhaust was note was awesome as well. That V10 burble is phenominal
I am really after a Sepang Blue number so might wait to see if one pops up. The Misano Red did not go down well with the missus
