Nah, lol. Just didnt want to be typing my surname all over the forum. You know how the crims surf the forums looking to take our identities :sekret: . Best to keep it as low key as possible.

Good luck with your date with 'the paint man'. Mine came all the way down from Birmingham to check mine out and was very impartial. Hopefully yours will be just as fair.

Here's hoping. The chap is coming to Audi on his day off, so I'm pretty impressed with the service offered so far. I reckon I'm armed with enough 'ammo' to fight this out if needs be. Fingers crossed they won't have my car too long to do the paint.
Funnily enough, it seems to be Daytonas that this has happened to the most. Whether that's coincidence or not, I don't know.
Roll on Saturday :)

Quick update.
I received a call from Lincoln Audi yesterday confirming Audi have authorised a full respray of the roof :)
The bodyshop will call me to arrange a convenient date to get this sorted.
I didn't ask about a courtesy car, but if it's like for like, I guess it could be a C6 RS6;)
I hope so anyway ;)

Yeah, it ownt be like for like. You'll probably end up with A3, A4 or Golf. Still, its a good deal on the paint. Well done mate.

Boo hiss! I really fancied an extended test of the C6!
Still, a good result all round!

Hi guys,

I took my Avant in Perth Audi as I noticed the same bubbling under the roof paintwork beneath the OS rear side roof bars.

Pictures were taken by the warranty guy and sent to Audi UK via the internal warranty tagging system. The warranty chap inserted it 3 times into the system and each time it came back with different % rates of liabilty! In the end the best he could get the system it spit out was 70% towards the respray.

I have argued the point with Audi UK that their cars are meant to have a 12 year anti corrosion warranty and that the area effected is not perforated, thus the rusting must be on the metal below the paint.

I await their further investigation!

Thoughts chaps??

That's a pretty poor show.
If there are any other Audi dealerships within a reasonable distance, it may be worth trying them. Either that, or get a paint specialist to back up your claim.
The warranty chap at Lincoln Audi took pictures of mine and got back to me with the go ahead a few days later.
The channels down both sides were all bubbling but hadn't become perforated. I'll try and get a couple of photos posted up at the weekend to show the extent of the damage.
Good luck getting yours sorted.

I should have a cast iron case as the paint isn't perforated. I'll give Audi HQ a bell in the morning and give them some jip!

I don't suppose yours is a Daytona grey car as well is it? It seems to me that the Daytonas are greatly affected by this bubbling. Both mine and Eddie's are. Perhaps something else to strengthen/bolster your claim? ;)

My Daytona avant doesn't seem to have these issues (yet)!
Where exactly have you guys found bubbling?

Along the rain channels in my case, as the roof 'folds over' into them. There's a separate strip that covers the seam of the roof and the side of the car that looks to have trapped water underneath it. Apparently, A3s suffer from this, according the the warranty chap.
It's quite apparent when I look along either side of the car. I just seem to recall that it's mainly been the Daytonas suffering from this. Perhaps it's just my imagination! I do have a saloon though, so it may affect Avants differently.
