Sorry but I am not a lawyer or advocate, I just work for a firm of advocates/lawyers (I am in the IT dept)

I wanna see what happens when my car goes in and see if the dealer can sort the probs out before I do anything else.

First of all, it is sad that you are given the run around.
However I don't think you have enough to reject the car. The dealer is right to say that ALL your problems are or going to be fixed under warranty. As far as I know in order to reject a car it must have faults that they can't repare or have major recurring problems. The gearbox could be one but the rattles and locks are not enough. They should have apologised for the inconveniance though. My RS4 had 3 clutches 2 flywheels 1 gearbox 1 MAF sensor 11 rims changed all under warranty. My carpet has worn out too but I did not want to change it until a cover became available.
My allroad had the turbos changed, the control unit for the tyre pressure monitor canged and had about 6 goes trying to fix a rattle and a whining noise under the bonet and it is still there.
I would not be concerned about the dash coming out, it won't rattle later, the screws are self tapping in plastic, so they will be solid.
Try not to get too upset but insist on a nice loan car for the duration of the repairs (RS6 maybe)

Two other people on audi-sport.net have had new gearboxes on their v8 so far. Maybe more out there. Must be a manufacturing fault? How do we know the one they replace it with will be any better?
