my car is broken :(
update from audi.....
they think there is a problem with one of the cylinders / valves. they apparently put a camera into the engine and found some debris in the cylinder? not really sure what they were saying but said they need to "strip down the engine" to diagnose further and it will probably be with them a couple of weeks.
sounds pretty bad

Have you asked them to put you into decent transport now that they know it will be two weeks or so?
i did ask, they gave me the same fobbing off saying until they know the problem they cant put a request into audi, who have a shortage of cars in my area. utter crap eh.
i'm going to push them on this, I really could do with sat nav for my job and parking sensors would be handy, looking out the back of the insignia is like looking thru a long tunnel, you can see f*** all at the end of it!

I would make an issue if this, and speak to the DP at your Audi dealer - they will making plenty of money from this incident so they should look after you. Inquire about an RS5 while you are there... that may change their attitude.

Agree, but are some of these manucturing issues? Audi should be subsidising the warranty, not putting a premium on it.scottie1979 wrote:... Guess that extended warranty at £1.6k is looking more worthwhile when the time comes!? Cant imagine trying to organise all this through a 3rd party.
Our effort should be directed at getting Audi to reduce the warranty cost so more people join up, creating a bigger pool.
I started this thread a few days ago, many views... BMW forums managed to get BMW to have sensible premiums.

I was informed by audi that the warranty is provided by an external company, not audi, despite this being a car I bought from Audi with 12 months warranty (its an audi approved warranty) so the audi guys have to diagnose the problem and call the warranty company for approval before they can carry out any work on the car to make sure its all covered. I thought it was a warranty direct from audi but apparently not.

It's an insurance contract I believe, but Audi do have a say in how the premiums are set... BMW backtracked in 2007 having jacked the premiums in 2006 also claiming it was third party etc etc.psg001 wrote:I was informed by audi that the warranty is provided by an external company, not audi, despite this being a car I bought from Audi with 12 months warranty (its an audi approved warranty) so the audi guys have to diagnose the problem and call the warranty company for approval before they can carry out any work on the car to make sure its all covered.
