Buying VAG-COM

Post by MalcolmSu » Mon Mar 22, 2010 10:03 pm

is there any real difference to buying VAG-COM from Ross Tech in the States to Ilexa in the UK? Price? Support?

Ross-Tech are the manufacturers of the leads and writers of VAG-COM (VCDS), and they have staff members active on many VW/Audi boards.

Can't comment on Ilexa - never seen them on any boards though...

Hi Malc, I just bought mine from Ilexa last week and it arrived the next day. It is the Ross-Tech cable but UK supplied and as far as I am aware you get the same support.
I bought mine for about £268 from them after reading a few threads on here from other members that had bought from them after not wishing to wait for one to be delivered from the usa, plus the cost of import duty etc.

It paid for itself in the first week after sorting my intermittent brake/abs dash light (£9.55 for a brake pedal switch) and my intermittent front parking sensors. Although be prepared to sit in the car on the drive for ages playing while the neighbours obviously think you are totally bonkers sitting in your car for hours on end.
