Help please!

Post by S3ADF » Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:32 am

Hi all

I usually spend my time on the RS6 side of this site but now would really appreciate your help.

On her way to work yesterday morning my wife hit a patch of black ice, lost control and stacked into a stationery vehicle. Her car was an imola yellow B5 S4 which now looks as though it will be deemed a write-off.

Details of the vehicle: Stunning Imola yellow (well I think so anyway!), registered 2001 with only two previous owners (we have owned the car from 13,000 miles), 137,000 miles, full black leather interior, sat nav/tv, Bose sound system, FASH and all maintenance carried out by Camberley Audi, absolutely no mods whatsoever, recent front end respray.

My wife was using the car as her everyday vehicle but only Sunday evening we had decided (due to the mileage on the car) to replace it with something with fewer miles. I was going to keep the S4 until it fully achieved its rightful place in history as a classic!

What I really need to know is what would be reasonable current market value of the car ie what would be a sensible amount to accept from our insurers if written off?

Sorry this is my first post over here but hope you guys can offer some advice.

Cheers

id say market value of that car (before the unfortunate accident obviously) is in the region of 5k how bad is the damage can you buy the car back off them cheap and have repaired?

Thanks rotta.

Don't know yet re possible buy-back and still waiting to hear if the insurers are going to write-off or repair but expecting the worst having spoken to the body shop. I was thinking in the region of £4k maybe £5k myself.

Just done the same with mine and it was repaired.
Total cost £3500.
Bottom book for 90K mile car was £4500
