Post by Stoffle32 » Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:01 am

Hi All

Wanted to know does anyone here have tech documents for the DRC
Including Set, up and what Audi them self use! Main Doc Im looking for is the one with the pressure of the DRC system and what it must be set to...
My dealer first said 12 bar, not they saying 6 so I need proof to them of what it is... As Im sure its 14 bar

from the vag repair book...

Valori della pressione del sistema DRC
I valori della pressione si riferiscono ad una
temperatura di riferimento di 20°C.

16 bar = pressione massima
15 bar – 16 bar = valvola centrale nuova o come nuova
12 bar – 15 bar = area di lavoro normale, sistema regolare
< 12 bar = sistema non a tenuta o non completamente riempito, inclusioni d'aria nel sistema, valvola centrale guasta.

translation:
test must me done at 20°C

16bar = max pressure
15 bar – 16 bar = central valve is ok , brand new
12 bar – 15 bar = normal pressure
< 12 bar = KO

The pressure in the system needs to be greater than 12 barg which is where the 14 barg comes from. Too high a pressure will mean a firmer ride and IMHO could exaccerbate the leak problem. Think my stealer quoted 15 barg but when I said the car still seemed crashy they let this down to between 13-14 barg which improved the overall ride for me and my driving style. If the stealer is stating either 6 or 12 barg I would suugest that they are talking out of their rear hole! Would advise that you get them to confirm with Audi UK Technical and get them to state clearly on the repair order what the pressure was set at.
