well he phoned me back today, told me everything like engine, gearbox, suspension was covered, exess is £25, cut a long story short i`ve done it, for the sake of total £115 what is there to lose?.
I asked about contacting him reguarding other members may want to buy this and if he had a number, he said he hasn`t got a direct number, but he can contact them, so if any of you who have Audi roadside assist of are a RAC memeber and want him to contact you reguarding this warranty pm me your phone number he is ringing me back on monday and i will pass your numbers on.

I think i will be joining the RAC with immediate affect sounds a real bargain. Do you have to have any particular level of membership to qualify?

Bargain of the century.... Thanks for bringing this to the forum, it's been very helpful though I shall not use it for the RS4.

Wayhey! This just sounds too good to be true, but if it is, the RAC are going to have a lot of C5 RS6s on the books. It could cripple the RAC's operating budget if we all pop our transmissions in unison!

johnny11 - can you share the fineprint? I'd love to look for holes.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I've joined the RAC to take advantage of this deal. The chap I spoke to advised that they're soon to be trained on selling the warranty, so as soon as my membership pack comes through, I'll be all over this like a rash ;-)

Now, how to split a new gearbox into 4 claims...

I don't know why this is being touted as a new warranty. Like I said, I've had it for over a year.

I've managed to get the right number etc., and I have also taken this cover.

As has been previously said, it's a cover only on offer to existing RAC breakdown customers and this is because it is purely a breakdown cover warranty. i.e. If your car breaks down and you feel compelled to call out the RAC to assist you, then the part they diagnose to have failed will be fixed at the roadside if possible, and if you are recommended to visit a dealer asap afterwards to have the repair made permanent then the cos of that repair will be covered up to your claim limit.

Two policies are offered.

1. £60 premium per annum covers a £500 limit per claim. 5 claims per annum. £25 excess per claim.
2. £114 premium per annum covers a £2000 limit per claim. 5 claims per annum. £25 excess per claim.

The items covered will not include wear and tear components apparently, and I'm awaiting my documentation throught the post to see how it compares to others.

Essentially though the car must break down and require an RAC call out to invoke any kind of claim, but faults are not therefore covered.
