Don't think so.

77,700 Euros at $1.35 to the Euro = $105,000, deemed too costly for the US market for what it is. But it's only money and so I'm sure some sort of deal will get done. Porsche know a lot about hedging....

That makes it clear that the car will be available in the US. So all kinds of rumours floating around right now. I would have thought the US was the primary market for a car of this type.

I'd be genuinely interested to hear how many B7 RS4s went to the US compared to the UK for example.

A friend of mine lives in Vegas and I was trying to get him to buy an RS4 (he bought a caddy instead). The price in dollars was almost exactly the same as the price I paid in pounds

If the RS4 was also 77,700 Euros (big assumption), then at the time this would equated to $89000, whereas we would have paid £50k at 65p to the Euro. Simple currency translation.

However, the £ was about $2 to the £, so a £50k car should have been $100k. The fact they got it for $50,000 that you suggest only means one thing - they have the best prices perhaps because they are the most important market.

Whichever way round, in Blighty we always seem to get a raw deal.

At this time, the RS 5 is not planned for the USA.

That means 100% it will be sold in the US - for that's where the market is and this will be a volume car, not some fancy limited edition job.
