VAG.com Diagnostic

Post by raza_1 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 11:48 pm

Hi Guys,

Is there anyone local to Watford who is willing to meet up with me to run a quick check on Vag.com.

I think my DSG gearbox maybe playing up and also the car seems to have a slight jerk and feels like it is missing.

the 1st\2nd gear seem hard and going to the 3rd gear and moving back down to 3rd gear is hard also.

Many thanks Raza

Really, you mean the 2010 Model? Thought the B6/B7 tip has a ZF box?

If it's a '99 doesn't that make it a B5 rather than a B6/B7?

Or am i confused?

B6 S4s don't have DSG, just regular tiptronic. I read that this was because the DSG couldn't handle the torque produced by the 4.2 V8.

mine must be the standard tiptronic then.

I had a M3 before buying this S4 and the SMG was far more superior and fun

Can't handle the torque produced by a 3.2 V6 either by all accounts

SMG gets slated by the motoring press, BMW are moving to a DSG type box.

Tip is a great box as autos go but it's heavy on emmissions unlike DSG

What are your symptoms? Chances are that nothing will show up on vagcom until it's too late. Unless you were planning on doing some logging?
