PES S/C..?

Post by tartan_rob » Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:20 pm

ANyone got any first hand reports of this? Price I saw quoted was $14,500 which seems okay in UK money. It brings the power right where it needs to be and at 5psi boost - has much potential....

A4 DTM is putting out around 300bhp. It is gorgeous and returning about 40-45mpg depending on who is driving her... :bigblink:

I much preferred the MTM S/C over the PES, for some reason the PES sounded like a "bag of nails". not as smooth a the MTM one. However I have never had first hand experience with one just been watching the vids.

Agree with you sonny, I have not tried the PES, but I know the MTM S/C well. Have tried the Novidem kit (www.novidem.ch). The novidem kit is not as expensive as MTM and are putting out 500 hp with standard exhaust. The ABT kit is the same as MTM but with different software.

Hmmmm just looking at the Novidem one, seems like it made well, im sure about how it is driven, looks like the drive pulley is taken from the front and diverted alone the head. surely this will be a weak point.

That's it John, the PES S/C colour coed in Daytona grey. The guy says it is methanol injected, by the use of injectors in the SC (above the intake valves) could this keep the carbon build up low...just a

depending on how much you used them, yes, it would help...how much is a guess...

Agree that Novidem has some weakness over the Lysholm type of compressor. Airflow might also be a weak point. Price was CHF 35.000 when I visited them last year.

CHF 35K?

I actually like the look of that in Daytona, not too bad.

That's a lot of Swiss Francs (£20,969 at today's exchange rate) and more than MTM want isn't it?

Explains it then, yea a tad expensive for what it is. might as well get the twin screw type S/C for that amount of money.
