No but my mate is interested in it, I wonder why it's so cheap though, too good to be true.andyleeds wrote:has anyone actually being to see the one up at £14k with 68k on the clock, if so whats it like, i was actually considering an RS6 but that might tempt me....

My best friend bought his RS4 a few weeks before christmas.
It's pretty much identical to yours but has better seats and a few more miles!
Black, 2001 (but before tax change), 71,000 miles, recaro hi-techs, cambelt done, cams checked, 4 new pirelli tyres, 2 owners, completely standard, excellent Audi, then specialist history, immaculate inside and out
£14,150.
My own hunch is that prices have plateaued and will increase on these cars if they are like his / yours.

Yes it was a good deal, but was from a car dealership so also had peace of mind! He's taken it to MRC and they have given it the all clear. Needed the usual MAF and DV's and fixing tiny oil leak, but that was it. My S4 is way faster, but his is just so lovely inside & so refined!!!!lengster1 wrote:Your mate has got a decent deal from the sounds of it
to be honest i have been looking at these prices for a while and the newer rs4 starts to get older and come down in price this will affect the older ones, not massively but definately to a point, i would say somewhere between 10 to 15% on where prices were last year.....there are definatley more about than there were, and we are till not out of the a bad economic climate......
The low miler B5's in good condition will keep their value whereas the high miler and tatty cars will not hold their value as well. Remeber these cars are fast becoming cult classics and will definitely become collectors in the same way that the RS2 has.

Are you still intending on selling? If so i think £15.5k - £16.5k would be a good price if you got it. Some sellers price their cars low due to having to sell them quickly so therefore their prices reflect this, if your car is in good condition and you are in no rush to shift it then hold out for a good price, because the rs4 is certainly worth every penny!
Yes I agree which is why I'm waiting until the weather breaks. As soon as the sun comes out, generally so do the wallets so although there are some reasonable prices on other cars I'm considering, I can't move on any of them until mine is sold.... Unless I take the 15.5k offer as p/ex but then their particular car is overpriced for what it is (obviously, being a dealer).

One with 108k on the clock just sold for £13990.
I'd never value an RS4 on mileage, you have to see it, drive it, VAG COM it.
Cars with complete audit files from new are worth much more than those without IMHO just because you know what's been done and what may be due.

Good point, that's why I keep every piece of paper/receipt from mine includiny warranty claims etc... the cars that have been looked after definitely stand out more than those which have been neglected. With Stumpy's car at least you know that you are getting onle that has been well looked after.
