Trackday Insurance.

Post by Knutts » Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:55 pm

I'm off on a driving experience with a company called Ultimate Car Control next week. They are run by a chap called Robb Gravett who won the BTCC a while back.

As part of the Driving Dynamics day they have suggested I get some insurance to cover the days activities. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many only cover bodywork damage, have a high excess and are expensive. Don't know of a good one, sorry.

You would think so. I will mention it to Robb on the day.

Getting some quotes at the moment so I will let you know how I get on and also what the day is like.

Competition Car Insurance is probably your best bet as they will provide cover for trackdays, hillclimbs, etc

Premium likely to be £150-£250 with an excess of 10% of the vehicle value

Some insurers on Owners Schemes will include a number of trackdays in the UK free of charge, e.g. 3 for the likes of Caterham Owners, albeit I managed to persuade my insurers to include unlimited trackdays anywhere in Europe
